Hosted by Azerbaijan Ecology and Agricultural Workers 'Union, The Board  Council Meeting of the International Federation of Timber and Related Industries Workers Unions of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held in Baku on 5-6 April 2017.

As Representative of  Öz-Orman-İş Chairman Settar  Aslan and General Financial Secretary Ali Bilgin, Executives and experts of Belarus Forest Workers Union, Kazakhstan Forest Workers Union, Moldavian Forest Workers Union, Ukrainian Forest Workers Union, Tatarstan Forest Workers Union, And Azerbaijan Ecology and Agricultural Workers' Union participated the meeting.

 On 5 April 2017, a meeting was held at the Confederation of Azerbaijan Workers (AHIK) with the participants of leaders and experts of the trade unions coming from the countries of the International Federation of Timber and Related Industries Workers Unions of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

In the meantime, Öz Orman-İş Chairman Settar Aslan, Azerbaijan Deputy and Head of AHIK Settar

Mehbaliyev made an interview. Turkey-Azerbaijan relations, Turkey-Russia and Central Asia relations, international trade union relations and sectoral issues were discussed.

On the same day, Öz-Orman-İş signed a Bilateral Co-operation Agreement with International Federation of Timber and Related Industries Workers Unions of the Common wealth of Independent States 

At the meeting trade union knowledge and experiences were shared mutually, focusing on the projects that could be developed jointly by the Federation and  Öz-Orman-İş Trade Union.

In the negotiations, it was decided that the next meeting would be held in September 2017

On the other hand, Oz Orman-İş Chairman Settar Aslan made a meeting with Ganire Paşayeva, deputy of Azerbaijan Parliament who had also participated in the International Democracy Congress held in Ankara on 2-4 March 2017.
