ÖZ ORMAN –İŞ and TRADE UNIONS OF INDEPENDENT STATES MET IN ANTALYA

Serik Mayor Prof. Dr.Ramazan Çelik also participated in the opening part of the meeting.

As well as local and globallabour problems, President of Öz orman -iş trade union Settar Aslan also referred to opportunities of cooperationswith trade unions and to exchange ideas of the problems of forestry and relatedsectors.

As a trade union wealso pay attention to international problems. In this context an InternationalSymposium called 'Arabian Spring andTurkey' was held in 2011, ÖzOrman-İş participated United Nations Convention on CombatingDesertification(UNCCD)as the sole acredited trade union. With the participationof Binali YıldırımPrime Minister of Turkey , Öz Orman İş trade union held a Democracy Congress issued 15 July Coup Atempt-Globall Chess on2-4 March 2017 which the involvement of 150 trade unionists all around 44countries,5 thousand forestry and agriculture workers, represantatives of CSO’sand 150 trade unions.

Settar Aslan described 15 July Coup-Atempt directed by FETÖterorist organization, as the game of International Imperialism. Aslan alsoindicated that ,Turkish nation not alsoprevented the coup-atempt with the callfor President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan but also added a gold page to the worlddemocracy history.15 July is not only a coup atempt. It aims civil war ofTurkey targeting interiour conflict.

Especially Azerbaijan andRussian Federation and all brothercountries took place beside Turkey during 15 july Coup-Atempt. Butunfortunately many western countriessupported coup atempt staying silent.

Resisting the Coup-Atempt ,Turkish Nation defended its democracy on thenight of 15 july 2016. With theparticipation of our partners from 44 countries in July 15 , we referred tothis important issue which we strongly beleive it will be a light to thestruggles of world democracy.

Subcontractor and Contemporary Employees

Addressing the subcontractorand contemporary employees staff pozition problems in Turkey as one of themajor labour problem , Settar Aslan Vice president of Hak-iş also stated thatall subcontractor employess need to be replaced as staff position. Over 9thousand employees combating with fire in forestry sector work 5 months 29 days in a year and stayworkless in the rest of the months which make defenseless at the forest fires.

The affairs of ForestOrganization are stable even the contemporary employees do not work. There isno predictable time for forest fires. Within a month we left behind, we hadhundreds of forest fires. Thousands of hectares of forest areas turned to ashes. In the last winter season, more than 500forest fires broke out which means there is not a certain season for the fires.

So it’s inevitable of our labourers to work fulltimein a year for the protection and development of the forests.

In this sense our Primeminister promised to solve this significant problem in the course of our Internationalmeeting which was held in 2 March 2017at Ankara. Furthermore, Jülide Sarıeroğlu Minister of Labor and Social Security ,touched upon tosolve the subcontractor and contemporary employees staff position problems. I appreciate her andwill follow up the developments about this major issue.
