Under the bilateral and multilateral cooperation underway between Öz Orman-İş Trade Union and InternationalFederation of Forestry and Related Workers Unions of Independent States, a series of meetings were organized in Minsk, the capital of Belarus.

The meeting in Minsk was attended by Settar Aslan, the president  of Öz Orman-İş Trade Union, Zeki Sungur Kızılkaya, the General Organization Secretary, and Benül Sözer, deputy of Foreign Affairs.The meetings held during June 19-22, hosted by the Forestry and Environment Workers Unions of Belarus, were attended by Victor Karnyushin, the Chairman of the International Federation of Forestry and Related Workers Unions Federation of Commonwealth of Independent States, Telman Guliyev, the Leader of Azerbaijan Ecology and Natural Resources Trade Union, Osmonov Kanatbek, the Chairman of Kyrgyzstan Republic’s Forestry and Affiliated Industrial Affairs Trade Union, Anatoly Rozhkov, the Leader of Russian Federation Timmber and Affiliated Workers Union and Hoyeva Çaslava, the president  of Belarus Forestry and Environment Management Workers Union.

One of the meetings in Minsk was held in the Federation of Belarus Trade Union on June 20, 2018. The meeting presided by Orda Sergevic, the Chairman of the Federation, was attended by the senior management of Öz Orman-İş, as well as by those senior managers of the labor unions of the Commonwealth of Independent States. During the meeting, the participant unions exchanged information mutually as to the work branches, trade unionization and conditions of the work places.

Following such meeting, Settar Aslan, the president  of Öz Oman-İş, who was interviewed by a local television channel provided information pertaining to the forestry activities, economic and social status of the forestry workers in Turkey, and the activities of Öz Orman-İş.

Furthermore, a roundtable meeting entitled “Social Partnership in respect of Unionism”, presided by Belarus Forestry and Environment Management Union was organized at Orbita Hotel on June 20, 2018. Thetopics included in the agenda of the meetings were 'Problems of Forestry Workers, Forests of the World and Contribution to Economy”, Union Organizationof Turkey and Other Participant Countries”, “Collective Labor Agreements” and “Potential Cooperation Opportunities and Projects”.

Following such meeting, Settar Aslan, the Leader of Öz Orman-İş Trade Union and Victor Karnyushin, the Chairman of the Timber and Affiliated Workers Union of the Commonwealth of Independent States, executed the document containing the contents for supporting the activities such as protection of workers’ economic and social rights and the activities aimed at the security of environment and forests in 2019. Karnyushin especially requested the advice of information in relation to forestry industry in Turkey, collective labor agreements of Öz Orman-İş and working conditions of the workers.

The participants of the meeting in Minsk paid a visit to the Forestry Department and Seed Center of the Belarus Republic on the same day.
