Vice President of Hak-İş Confederation Sattar Aslan requested immediate mediation of the tension, started upon air strikes of India against Keshmir, and notified that Turkey and Turkish laborers are with brother Pakistani people. Settar Aslan, Vice President of Hak-İş Confederation and the Chairman of the Öz Orman-İş Trade Union, who is in Pakistan in response to the invitation of the Federation of Trade Unions of Pakistan (PLF), attended to the international meeting on the ‘International Labor Convention on the Problems of Workers in the Face of Globalization and Privatization’, held in Lahore and made a presentation. Settar Aslan, who met separately with Pakistan's Minister of Agriculture, Malik Nauman Ahmad and Minister of Transport, Muhammad Aftab Akbaru within the framework of his contacts, also published a joint statement with Pakistan Federation of Labor Unions on the Pakistan-India tension that started following India's airstrikes against Keshmir. Hak-İş Vice President, Settar Aslan, who implemented a press conference in Lahore along with PLF executives on the issue, recalled that the tension between the two countries started on Indian air strikes against the Pakistani territory, and notified that they protested this situation. Settar Aslan said Pakistan is an independent state and has to protect its borders. They have righteously responded to an attack against their own borders. We stand on the side of Pakistani people and government on this issue, and we will continue to stand. We learned that our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan also had contacts for reducing the tension. If God permits, I hope the situation will return to normal soon.” |
